About Galerie St. George

Galerie St. George ("GSG") was founded in July, 2007 by photographer Gary Brant. GSG opened its doors as a cooperative artists gallery on September 20th, 2008 with the work of Portuguese sculptor George Pissarro, and has since expanded to include both local New York City and international artists working in a wide variety of mediums and styles.

Our spacious facilities include both a main gallery, gallery annex, video theatre and an expansive sculpture garden on the grounds of a historic landmark 1885 Victorian estate built by 19th century industrialist Anson Phelps-Stokes. A 10-minute walk from the Staten Island Ferry, GSG is conveniently accessible from all of New York City's five boroughs.

Galerie St. George is working with young, emerging artists both in America, Canada, the U.K., Europe and Australia.

In July, 2009, GSG announced the appointment of Director of Artist Development Grace L. Cooke in the U.K. in order to develop emerging artists' careers in England and build their audience in America.

GSG also just introduced a new program "Discovery", which is bringing forward new and emerging artists whose work deserves attention.

Galerie St. Geoge is located at: 11 Phelps Place, Staten Island, New York 10301 USA, and is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. or by appointment. We welcome your call at anytime: 513-ART-SHOW or on SKYPE: "galstg" for further information.
